In addition to Captivology, I started an early-stage venture fund called DominateFund, which has invested in great companies like wireless electricity startup uBeam, millennial social network Shots, and the Chinese-focused mobile platform Mingyian. I also founded The Parr Group, a consulting and advisory for on the topics of technology, marketing, media, and growth. I advise top brands like Lufthansa Airlines and others on growth, attention and marketing.
Previously, I was a career journalist, first serving as Co-Editor and Editor-at-Large of Mashable, where I opened Mashable's west coast office, helped manage the editorial team, and wrote more than 2,400 articles on the business and cultural impact of technology. Later on, I joined CNET/CBS Interactive as a Columnist and Commentator.
I have been lucky enough to receive recognition for my work over the years. I was named one of Forbes’ 30 Under 30, one of the top ten tech journalists in the world by Say Media, one of the top 10 Internet of Things experts by Inc. Magazine, and a disruption fellow of the TriBeCa Film Festival.
